This is no April Fool's Joke: I love food! I love cooking! I could sit and peruse cookbooks for hours, dreaming of all the foods I could cook if I had exotic ingredients readily available, and dreaming of the day my kids will love anything I cook. Lol. But, even just dreaming about all this food doesn't help with that last 15 lbs I have to lose! Those are incredibly happy 15 lbs, though. My favorites would have to be Italian and Meditteranean flare (at least, that's the Category I think it goes in). So, anything that involves tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar, feta, etc. I love beans. I wish the world did. They are so versatile! I made this awesome Greek Salad (yes, you'll find it here!) from the real Martha Stewart's Everyday Foods mag., and it was awesome! It had chickpeas in it, which I think is actually a bit unusual for your usual greek salad. So, come on my cooking adventures with me. I will try lots of different recipes, and you can learn from my mistakes. Here are some rules for cooks: 1. Substitutions are totally permissible, and to be expected when you've got a gourmet palate on a beans and rice budget. However, from experience, never substitute bottled lemon or lime juice in raw ingredient recipes such as salads, salad dressings, and salsas. It doesn't work. Buttermilk: 1 cup milk to 1 Tb. lemon juice. Let sit for 5 minutes before using. It may change the consistency of your recipe, but I dare you to experiment! 2. Be willing to try new things, different ideas. You might like it!
